Let me start off by saying I was the most disappointed in this service here than I ever have been in any restaurant I've attended . I'm an Atlanta native but my grandparents live here in Washington. I have come to the square my entire life but especially on 4th of July. It is a family tradition of ours to come eat up there and then enjoy fire works. Tonight , it took us over 15 minutes waiting before we even got our drink order. I didn't note that as a red flag because I do understand with it being a holiday that it would be busy. Not to mention, my grandmother called twice this evening telling them we'd be coming around 7:30. From here the service kept getting worse .. it took another 10 minutes before the server came back and took our order . After almost 2 hours of sitting there, the food was brought to the table completely cold and undercooked . My dad didn't even receive his food until much later , he only received it because we mentioned that they forgot his food . We received no refills what so ever or the alcoholic beverages we ordered . We also had to ask for silverware as well as condiments we never received. Needless to say the salmon I ordered wasn't even grilled like I asked , it was basically raw . We all left the restaurant pretty hungry not to mention the bill was a few hundred dollars . I think that's absolutely absurd to think it's okay to charge us that much when I know the restaurant workers there knew how horrible the service was they gave us . I understand it was a busy night but if you're a restaurant business owner , you need to prepare for nights like these . If you don't have the staff , you simply need to keep your restaurant closed . I can't tell you how many people I saw going up to the counter because they weren't being served and complaining. The 'jockey club' definitely isn't what it was years ago ... I recommend the better restaurants around town there if you're gonna go up town and eat . Horrible horrible experience . The owner should be disappointed in their restaurant and their way of doing business . Will not be returning .
Walked in and was immediately welcomed in and to sit where I liked. The atmosphere was outstanding with antiques and other goodies from surrounding stores around the square and other small businesses. We ordered an Arnold Ziffle, Kitchen Sink, and a hotdawg. Our meal was received within 10 minutes. It was more than enough food and was delicious. We had to take part if the hotdawg and half a sandwich with us. The food was definitely worth stopping in this small town for and will be stopping everytime we come through.
I ordered Tuscan Soup and wasn't satisfied with the bitter taste. I asked to exchange for a different soup of the day and was denied. I feel that if I'm a loyal customer and do business with you more than 5 times out of the month the least you could is an exchange if I'm a paying customer that wasn't satisfied. The customer is sometimes right. You learn from experience and feedback of the customer on your food. Just bad business once the Jockey Club took over the business.
Incredibly slow service
Ok food, ok service, ok prices and ok friendly
